Synopsis: China's Taihang Mountains are a tough place to be a baby monkey. Steep cliffs, scorching summers and very, very cold winters all take their toll. It's a particularly tough place to be a blind baby monkey. Most blind babies die in a matter of weeks, however the extreme devotion of one macaque mother has an extraordinary result. The Blind Monkey provides an insight into macaque society and suggests that compassion may not be a uniquely human behavior.
